Transport for London tight-lipped
A rare series of minor delays on the London transport network have seen a commuter repeatedly arrive late for work.
Aishah Hussain couldn’t believe it when her official journey time of 20 minutes was extended to as much as half an hour due to some small schedule changes and disruptions. Over the course of five and a half years this caused almost weekly chaos, the only respite being the Covid-19 pandemic when lockdown prevented travelling.
“It’s been incredibly stressful,” says Hussain. “Transport for London has a lot to answer for.”
Suggestions for dealing with the delays mooted by Hussain’s boss, Alex Aldridge, include leaving home earlier in anticipation of the odd delay.
“It’s a nice idea but is it really that simple?” asks Hussain.
Transport for London declined to comment.
