Young man reading a book

Exclusive interview

Following his departure from Legal Cheek, we sat down with events enthusiast Saad Khalil to discuss his most recent venture.

“The key to any event is the banner”, Khalil announces on the first page of his new guide, ‘Events: how to do them and how not to do them’. The guide, inspired by Khalil’s adventures at Legal Cheek, features insights into his day-to-day life organising the UK’s largest and most successful legal events, as well as how to avoid common pitfalls.

The first chapter, ‘Banners: how to erect them and not forget them’, details the step-by-step process of constructing a banner, which Khalil tells us is not as straightforward as it looks. “To be honest, the most difficult part is remembering the banner in the first place”, he admits sheepishly.

In a later chapter, Khalil emphasises the importance of coming prepared to all events. “I always carry a guillotine with me in case I need to cut out name badges”, Khalil tells his readers.

Khalil’s guide will be available in all major bookstores from Tuesday 1 April, although over one million copies have already been pre-ordered.

Reacting to the news, Khalil took to LinkedIn, writing:

Wrapping up the virtual interview, we asked whether a second book could be on the horizon. Unfortunately, Khalil’s answer to this question will have to remain a mystery as he was on mute.
