Another line to an already impressive CV
Colleen Cumbers’ career to date has a comforting circularity to it.
Having kicked off her CV by helping turnaround the fortunes of The Swan pub in Ipswich, Cumbers now finds herself preparing to tackle another bar.
Legal Cheek’s bar coordinator is about to embark on pupillage at Crown Office Chambers, which is “one of the leading civil and commercial sets in the country,” according to our Chambers Most List (and Cumbers, as she wrote it!).
A quick glance of Cumbers LinkedIn profile shows she was always destined for greatness.
Having successfully put The Swan pub back on the map, the first-class Oxford graduate went on to complete an eye-watering 19 mini-pupillages before joining Legal Cheek in 2022.
Commenting on her academic and working achievements, The Swan’s current landlord, Ted, said: “I always knew Colleen was destined for great things. I just assumed it would be the Wheatsheaf over the other side of the town. Their carvery is one of the best I’ve seen, and the selection of cask ales is second to none.”
Colleen has been an integral part of the Legal Cheek team and will be dearly missed. We wish her all the best with pupillage and what will no doubt be an incredible career at the bar.
And if it doesn’t work out — there is always The Swan.
