Exclusive: Future Clifford Chance trainees told they will be immediately seconded to Hopin

Onboardings will start in the New Year

Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance has taken the unusual step of informing future trainees they will be immediately seconded to a big-name client.

One TC holder and former head of student engagement for Legal Cheek, Sam Jewell says he’s already been informed by the firm he will spend at least the first six months of his training contract with virtual events platform Hopin.

CC recently secured a spot on the company’s legal panel and as result, will now send an unknown number of its soon-to-be trainees to work alongside Hopin’s in-house lawyers.

As well as legal work, Jewell and his fellow trainee colleagues will be responsible for on-boarding the companies new clients and being the first point of call for customers when the platform goes down.

Legal Cheek understands CC has also recently secured spots on the legal panels of Hopin parent company RingCentral, Survey Monkey and MailChimp, although it remains to be seen whether the firm will send future trainees to these companies too.
