An internal memo in which the senior partner of a leading London corporate law firm reveals her Brexit fears has emerged in the blogosphere.

The 500 word email, written by Jennie Gubbins to lawyers at her firm, Trowers & Hamlins, provides an interesting insight into the anxiety that has descended upon the City since the vote to leave the European Union in June.

The memo — which is reproduced in full below — also reveals that Trowers has decided to delay its decision on whether or not to increase lawyers’ salaries until September amid fears about “any bumps there may be in the road ahead”. Similar moves to freeze pay have been made recently by Berwin Leighton Paisner, Addleshaw Goddard and Gowling WLG.

Trowers declined to comment when contacted by Legal Cheek this morning about the leak, which first surfaced on legal blog RollOnFriday.
